Ingredients

1/2 cup ketchup2 tablespoons sugar2 tablespoons cider vinegar2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce1 teaspoon sesame oil1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes1-1/2 pounds uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined1 tablespoon minced fresh gingerroot1 tablespoon canola oil3 garlic cloves, minced2 green onions, sliced1 teaspoon sesame seeds, toastedHot cooked rice, optional

Preparation

In a small bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients; set aside. In a large nonstick skillet or wok, stir-fry shrimp and ginger in oil until shrimp turn pink. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer.

Add the ketchup mixture; cook and stir until heated through, 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds. If desired, serve with rice.
