Ingredients

1 (4-oz.) bottle glue

Food coloring

1 tsp. baking soda

2 tbsp. contact solution (with borate)

Preparation

Step 1Mix glue with food coloring until desired color is achieved. Stir in baking soda and contact solution. Once thickened, knead with your hands until no longer sticky.

What to remember:  1. Food coloring + kids = mess.

It’s best to do this on a plastic tablecloth, placemat, or cutting board. You don’t want this stuff to dry on your nice rustic farm table. 2. It’s NOT edible. Make sure you and your kids are washing your hands often while you make and play with slime.  3. This recipe is safe!  Though you can’t eat it, you can feel good about your kids playing with it. Many other recipes call for borax, a powdery mineral used in many detergents and cosmetics. Exposure to it can cause eye irritation and skin rashes, and it also might cause hormone problems. Sooooo just avoid it. Baking soda + contact solution is wayyy more chill.
