Ingredients

4 tbsp. Land O Lakes® Butter With Canola Oil, melted, plus more for the pan

1 c. all-purpose flour

2 tsp. granulated sugar

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. kosher salt 

1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

1 c. buttermilk

2 large eggs

Cooking spray

4 slices aged white cheddar

1 green apple, thinly sliced

Preparation

Step 1To make the waffles, melt Land O Lakes® Butter With Canola Oil and set aside. Turn on your waffle iron.Step 2In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and pepper.Step 3In another medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter spread, buttermilk and eggs.Step 4Add the dry ingredients into the wet, and mix until just combined.Step 5Spray a preheated waffle iron with cooking spray and cook four waffles until lightly golden and just cooked through.Step 6Heat a large pan over medium heat.Step 7 Layer a waffle with 1 slice of cheese, followed by 5 to 7 slices of apple, then another slice of cheese, and one more waffle, then repeat to make 2 waffle sandwiches.Step 8Brush the pan with additional Land O Lakes® Butter With Canola Oil and grill the sandwiches until the cheese is melted and waffles are crisp.
