What is the sauce made of? Ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar make up our sauce added to our bell pepper, onion and garlic mixture. We love the sweetness created by the ketchup and brown sugar, but if that’s not your thing, feel free to add and taste as you go. Everyone has their own perfect sloppy joe sauce—you can totally figure out what works best for you!  How should I serve them? Scoop onto hamburger buns (or, switch it up by turning it into a quesadilla) for a classic handheld dinner. We love to top ours with thinly sliced red onion and pickle chips for added crunch and texture, but it’s completely optional!  What side dishes go with sloppy joes? If you really want to get saucy, serve up some Bacon Baked Beans with your sloppy joes for the ultimate classic combo. We also love tater tots or homemade french fries with these sandwiches to really hone in on the comfort factor, but our Classic Potato Salad and Southern Baked Mac & Cheese would also be delicious at any summer BBQ.
