Ingredients
1 cup boiling water1/4 cup butter, softened1 egg1 teaspoon vanilla extract1 cup all-purpose flour1 cup sugar3 tablespoons baking cocoa1 teaspoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon baking soda1/4 teaspoon saltConfectioners’ sugar
Preparation
In a bowl, beat water and butter until butter is melted. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to the egg mixture. Beat for 2 minutes.
Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking pan. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Dust with confectioners’ sugar.
