Ingredients

2-2/3 cups all-purpose flour2 tablespoons sugar2 teaspoons baking powder1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon dried oregano1 teaspoon dried thyme1/2 teaspoon dill weedADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS:1 bottle (12 ounces) beer1 tablespoon butter, melted

Preparation

In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Transfer to a 1-qt. glass jar. Cover and store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months. Yield: 1 batch (about 3 cups).

To prepare bread: Transfer bread mix to a large bowl. Stir in beer just until moistened. Spoon into a greased 9x5-in. loaf pan. Bake at 375° for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack. Brush with butter.
