Ingredients

1/2 pound bulk Italian sausage1 small sweet yellow pepper, diced1 small sweet red pepper, diced1 teaspoon canola oil1 to 2 garlic cloves, minced1 can (15 ounces) crushed tomatoes3/4 cup hot chili beans2 tablespoons chili sauce2 teaspoons chili powder1 teaspoon ground cuminSour cream, optional

Preparation

In a large saucepan, saute sausage and peppers in oil until meat is no longer pink. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Drain.

Stir in the tomatoes, beans, chili sauce, chili powder and cumin. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until heated through. Serve with sour cream if desired.
