Ingredients

1 pound ground beef1 pound ground pork1 medium onion, chopped1/2 cup chopped green pepper1-1/2 to 2 cups water1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce1 can (15 ounces) pinto beans, rinsed and drained1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained1 envelope chili seasoning1/4 teaspoon garlic saltShredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions and/or hot pepper slices, optional

Preparation

In a large saucepan, cook the beef, pork, onion and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink and vegetables are tender; drain.

Add the water, tomato sauce, beans, tomatoes, chili seasoning and garlic salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until heated through. Serve with cheese, sour cream, green onions and/or hot peppers if desired.
